About the role
We're hiring a Founding Frontend Engineer to own the experience real people touch every day — the chat, the assistant, the dashboards. You'll set the bar for how GabForge looks and feels.
What you'll do
- Build the core product UI in Next.js, React and TypeScript.
- Own a design system that stays fast and accessible as the product grows.
- Obsess over perceived performance — streaming responses, optimistic UI, Core Web Vitals.
- Partner directly with design and the founders; ship daily.
Why it matters
Our users are not engineers. The interface is the product for them. You make complex AI feel like a calm, simple conversation.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of frontend engineering with deep React and TypeScript.
- Strong eye for UI detail and motion; you can take a Figma file and make it better.
- Real experience with performance: bundle size, hydration, streaming, accessibility.
- Comfortable as an early hire — owning ambiguity, not waiting for tickets.
Nice to have
- Next.js App Router and React Server Components.
- Experience building chat or real-time interfaces.
